Who We Serve
We are working with employers to help build a more dependable, more adaptable, and highly skilled workforce. Our mission emphasizes our core principle – connecting America’s youth to their dream job. It is our duty to advance education through job shadowing programs that introduce youth to various work skills and careers so we can give youth the skills necessary to succeed in life.
West Virginia needs to put people to work to accomplish many of its goals. The 2017 census by the Board of Labor states that West Virginia’s unemployment rate stands at 6.5% which is significantly higher than the national unemployment rate of 4.7% and West Virginia has a significantly lower workforce participation rate of only 52.9%. According to the 2011 American Community Survey, 25.8% of related West Virginia children (94,852) under the age of 18 lived in poverty compared with 22.2% of U.S. children. In 2011, one in four West Virginia lived below the federal poverty threshold.
One way to address these two problems is to increase the number of adults who are qualified for available jobs. The apprentice day program works to create a ready, willing, and able, skilled labor force. This new labor force will attract and/or originate new businesses in and around West Virginia.
Join us in building a community of business leaders to guide young adults in pursuing their dream job, free. We allow employers & apprentices to lead the way, safely.
